Romance…. My Way – Friends to Lovers
Hello Everyone! Happy Valentine’s Day!
One of my favorite romance tropes is “friends-to-lovers.” I love how a good friendship with a ton of history and caring tied up in it can evolve into a grand and sweeping romance. Friends share so much – inside jokes, embarrassing moments, the everyday wonderful highs and depressing lows of life. In this type of story, the love evolves from a solid background, a shared array of experiences both sweet and sour, rather than the white-hot flame of instant attraction. Friends know all about one another – all the good, bad, and truly ugly – and they fall in love anyway. And really, isn’t that the ultimate dream? To have someone totally know you, know all your faults and all your awesomeness, and love you unconditionally.
In my novella One Kiss, Kat and Dean are best friends and nothing more until midnight on New Year’s Eve rolls around they find themselves single and alone… But is it worth risking that friendship for the sake of one midnight kiss?
Sometimes one kiss can change everything.
New Year’s Eve is supposed to be a night for celebration and new beginnings. For best friends Kat and Dean, it is a nightmare filled with disastrous dates and enraged ex-girlfriends!
Lucky for them, they’ve got each other to help laugh off the embarrassing, and downright inappropriate, moments. But then midnight rolls around and neither of them have anyone to kiss…
There’s no doubt this is a night they will always remember.
The real question is whether it will be a night they want to forget…

I am a huge fan of Friends to Lovers! I enjoy reading about the inner struggles that they have with their feelings of if they take the relationship in that direction will their friendship change or will it be over anyways due to the new feelings they have! Thanks for sharing I really enjoyed the excerpt! amybowens34@yahoo.com

It is a great trope. Thanks so much for stopping by, Trix!
I like darker romance, kidnapped victim falls for and converts the kidnapper, dubious consent, etc. As long as the writing and story line are engaging I’m good with most of them.

my favorite trope would have to be lost love with included a betrayal of sorts. It happened in real life but is hard to address when it happens to you.

My favorite trope is enemies to lovers. There is something about turning that animosity (or whatever they feel toward each other) into passion/lust. I just love it!
Though, I enjoy almost all tropes. 🙂
