Moonlight and Merlot

September 21, 2010

The continuing saga of the lives, loves and heartbreaks of the residents of Dion Valley, CA.

As with all the best things in life, this is for adults only.

Lela followed Nick inside his apartment. This was the first time she had ever been there. He turned on a standing lamp and Lela looked around, taking in the dark sofa and easy chair, the wood coffee table, the open kitchen off the left and the half-closed door on the right. She supposed his bedroom was behind that door and the thought made butterflies churn in her belly.

“Do you want some coffee or something?” Nick asked, heading toward the kitchen.

“No, I’m fine,” she said standing in the middle of the living room. She felt nervous, excited, tense and a little weird. She wasn’t there for coffee and they both knew it. The real reason hung in the air between them, tense and heady and supercharged.

“Lela,” he said with a smile and sigh. He guided her to the couch. “Let’s sit down, okay?”

They settled on the couch and the whole situation suddenly struck Lela as very funny. Her nervousness, the electric tension between them, their awkward, stilted movements as they both tried to pretend that everything was normal, all of it seemed so intensely ridiculous and the more she thought about it the funnier it became. She leaned her head against Nick’s shoulder and shook with laughter. “Nick,” she said in between breaths, “I’m sorry. This is all just so crazy.”

Her laughter was apparently infectious because he was laughing as well. “It is a little bit crazy. I never thought the first I had you over would be like this,” he said.

“You’ve thought about it?” she asked. “About having me over?” She was surprised to discover just how happy that made her.

“Yeah,” he said, putting his arm around her shoulders. “I thought about it.”

Lela felt the heat rise in her cheeks. “What did you think about?” she asked. “You know, when you thought about having me over.”

“Well,” he said and then dipped his head to touch his lips to hers. “I thought…” Another light kiss. “About…” Kisses for her chin, her cheeks, her forehead. “Something like this…” His mouth met hers again and he kissed her, gently teasing her lips apart with the tip of his tongue.

Lela gasped and he slipped his tongue into her mouth, leading her into a deep, dancing caress of lips and tongue. The intoxicating taste of him obliterated everything and delicious heat flowed through her, a tingling wave of desire that settled low in her belly. Her fingers twined in his hair and she pulled him closer, pressing against him. She could feel his heart pounding in his chest, beating nearly as hard as her own.

The kiss went on and on and Lela was lost, drifting in the extraordinary sensations. He cupped her breast over her t-shirt and Lela’s nipple instantly went hard. She moaned into his mouth, a low, throaty moan of hunger and delight. Her hand moved over him, over his broad chest, down his flat stomach, pausing to linger over the incredible bulge in his jeans.

Nick’s body went very still when she touched him and then a deep shudder traveled over him. He tore his lips from hers, sucked in a short, hard breath and then scooped her into his arms, carrying her off to his bedroom.

[Until next Tuesday…]

Nice build up! I liked the tension and the laughter before the steamy stuff begins.
I can’t wait for next week!
