Jordan opened one eye and rolled her head against the wall to look over at him. “Why, Santa!” she said with mock horror. “Are you flirting with me?”

He leaned across the table, a playful smile dancing on his lips. “Is it working?”

She smiled back. She didn’t even need to think about it. “Yes.”

“Then yes,” he said, “I am definitely flirting with you.”

Jordan laughed and took a drink of her coffee to try to cover up the sudden rosy flush on her cheeks. It had been awhile since she had last enjoyed the attention of a beautiful man. Until that moment, she hadn’t realized how much she missed it.
