Here are six sentences from Knightly Desire, my medieval-esque fantasy romance coming soon from Ellora’s Cave. (If I ever get done with edits!)
With a pained grunt, he rolled over and got out of the bed. He stood with his back to the door and she could see the powerful muscles in his legs quivering as they strained to bear his weight. She clenched her fists, sending him silent cheers of encouragement. He was weak, that much was certain, but he remained upright and Gabrielle’s heart soared, fiercely proud of his strength.
When he turned, she gasped involuntarily, pressing her eye tighter against the keyhole.

Oh MY, loved the surprise I got when you mentioned she was peeking through a keyhole. And I definitely want more description of this guy – terrific six!

*opens eyes wide* Okay! Two things: Why is he so weak? And…what made her gasp! Not very nice to leave us hanging like this. 🙂
