Special Guest Taryn Kincaid

April 20, 2011

I am so excited to have one the stars of Six Sentence Sunday, one of my favorite authors TARYN KINCAID here with me today!

TarynKinciad: And I’m so happy to be here. Sandwiched in between the hot, hunky, naked men with astounding packages, as it were!

LisaFox: So, tell us about you. Who is Taryn Kincaid?

TK: I couldn’t precisely tell you who Taryn is. But Kincaid is the street I grew up on.  Honest to Betsy. (I couldn’t precisely tell you who Betsy is, either. Except that she is NOT the street I grew up on.)

LF: You are a romance author, but do you consider yourself a romantic?

TK: Only in the Disney sense.

LF: Adam, your hero in HEALING HEARTS, is beyond hot. I believe I have even declared my love for him on Twitter. What inspired you to create him?

TK: I love when people declare their love for him on Twitter. I love when they announce they wish to marry him. I love dueling and trueling tweets when tweeterers vow they’ve professed their undying love for him before other tweeterers have. Although, I really must point out that he is not a vampire. So the love might not be precisely undying.

As to what inspired me to create him.  Well, um, let’s just mosey on back to the “beyond hot” part!

LF: Who do you see playing him in the movie?

TK: I will go with “Who is Jake Gyllenhaal, for six hundred, Art?”

Mainly because I would laugh out loud if I had to spell his last name again. Also, because he’s got the hunky, blue-eyed,  twinkly but brooding look down pat. (Although I don’t precisely know who Pat is, either.)

Looky here: I will even provide you with Jake’s “Man Meat” page: http://celebmanmeat.blogspot.com/2009/05/jake-gyllenhaal-i-hate-you-reese.html

(Editorial note: I have thoroughly researched this link and I am pleased to report it gets the Lisa Fox seal of hot men approval)

LF: You’ve done paranormal. You’ve done Regency. Any other subgenres you’d like to explore?

TK: I’m currently in the midst of a romantic suspense. It’s actually more romantic than it is suspense. But the hero’s an FBI agent, who isn’t a supe of any sort, or even a disinherited aristocrat, so I’m not sure where else to categorize him. Oh, yeah, and her. There’s a girl in it, too.  Also a couple of futuristic fantasies.  And one day, I might even finish one or 10 of them!

LF: If such things were possible, and you got the opportunity to choose, which would you prefer to romance, a vampire or a werewolf?

TK: Silly question. You can pet a werewolf.  And, you know, they growl and stuff.  Whereas sparkly, glittery dead things are best worn on ring fingers, not romanced.

LF: Any new projects in the works?

TK: Hmm. Um. I guess. One or two or ten.

LF: How can people find you online?

TK: You’re teasing me now, right?

I tweet. I FB. I blog. I blog. I blog again. And again.  I #SixSunday.  And I comment. When I can.

Visit me! Please visit me! I am a comment whore!

And, if you visit me and Lisa today, I might even throw some Romance Trading Cards your way!

As a girl, Emma Whiteside asked Adam Caldwell, Viscount Riverton, to wait for her to be of marriageable age. Now, twelve years later, Emma hates Adam as much as she once loved him, holding the former army major responsible for the death of her brother on the battlefield.

Adam already blames himself for the loss of the men under his command. But the fiery young woman Emma’s become sparks his arousal, as well as emotions Adam thought long dead. The passion between them makes him want to reclaim the man he was before the war.

Though she tries to hold on to her hatred, Emma’s longing for Adam is undeniable, especially after the two share a smoldering kiss. Still, Adam is certain no woman would want a man so damaged. Can Emma prove him wrong?

I love all kinds of trash Taryn so you are always welcome to come on over and add to the fray.

Where are the hot men indeed. Seems I have been neglecting them this week. I’ll have to fix that tomorrow.

Thanks so much for hanging out with me today!

Thanks so much for stopping by everyone. You made my day. (Not that it would have been hard to do that…but still.) I do appreciate it. And I’m sorry I didn’t get a chance to check in during the day.

  13. April 20, 2011 7:50 pm

LOL I absolutely have to agree with werewolf over vampire.

Fun interview and I love the range of subgenres you write in — wow! Do you consciously try to change your voice for regency versus SF, for instance?

    Fun interview!

LOL – great interview. I’ll have to remember your answer for werewolf over vampire. It’s werewolf for me all the way! Good luck with Healing Hearts 🙂
