What I’ve Learned from Final Fantasy
March 20, 2010
- Ordinary people can be thrust into extraordinary circumstances at any moment
- Through discipline, training, and out-and-out grinding, great power can be achieved
- A love story always makes the action that much more thrilling
- Sometimes the fate of the entire world really is at stake
- No matter how hard the battles, no matter how perilous the heights, victory awaits in the end for those who choose to persevere
- Killing monsters is cool
- Even the most epic plots are only as compelling as the depth, strength and likability of the characters
- Side-quests and subplots add intensity and context and always enrich an already powerful storyline
- Making super-bad, magical-beastie-thing-enemies explode into a billion pieces is tremendous fun
- The whole world is interactive and just waiting for brave explorers to discover all its secrets and mysteries
- Though the ending may be spectacular, it is the journey that makes it all worthwhile

LOVE! You’re so right!!! Making super-bad, magical-beastie thingies explode is EPIC!
And don’t forget the summons/eidolons 😉
Thanks! I do love Final Fantasy. And those summons make things explode real good!
